Dollar Yard Sale Chair

I finally finished my chair makeover.
Here's what it cost:

chair- $1.00
fabric - $2.47
spray paint- $3.57
-------------------------------
Total Cost = $7.04

I'm disappointed in the paint color.  I wanted it to match
my desk...but it came out a few shades lighter.
Note to self and everone else..... do a little "test"
before completely finishing a project and then
discovering you used the wrong shade!
Not that it really matters...nothing in that room
really goes together anyway!  We'll see...I
might be getting another can of spray paint!

Here's my next project!

I'm refinishing this vanity and a dresser that my friend
and I got at a yard sale for $20.00...for her little
girl's room.  My girlfriend wants it to be all plain old
white with maybe some pink glass knobs.
I can't imagine this just being white!
We'll have to see about that!
Stay tuned....

July 4th Entertaining Ideas

4th of July FUN finds!

This is one I can definately do!  It's just white
chocolate and blue sugar.
I found these  here.

I love these little pom poms attached to a skewer
and put in a jar with sand.

I found these Apple Pie Pocket Molds
 over at Williams-Sonoma...aren't they cute?!

I love this tablecloth from Kohl's for the picnic table!

I found these red, white & blue cupcakes at Bake at 350.
I'd really like to try and make these!

Okay...this is so cute I almost can't take it!
I'd love to sit this out at our next cookout!
This can be found at Pier 1.

Another cute condiment set from Pier 1.
Too bad they're not in my budget!
Mabye they'll mark them
down after summer.

And these.....I think I will suprise
everyone at our cookout with these babies!
They'll go perfectly with my daisy dukes!
I know you're wondering where you can
get a pair too!  Right here!

(You all know I'm kidding, right?!)

Green Slime

Brady and I made Slime yesterday!  I've been looking around for some boy projects/crafts to do...and finally found this recipe.  It was so easy and super cheap.  Brady loved it!  It only took us about 15 minutes to make, but we played around with our finish product for an hour and a half!   Brady wanted me to mention that the slime did lots of "farting" when we were kneading it in the beginning.  We were laughing so hard!

So, as you can see...I'm experimenting with this whole picture collage thing!  Just a little blog envy going on again!  If you want to see some awesome collages, check out Cindy's blog!  I am always intrigued by the way she puts her pictures together in a collage format and really makes them stand out on her blog.  My collage is pretty basic...but I'm just happy that I figured out this much!

Who Needs Expensive Flowers?

I love these flower stands that we have in our area.  They can be found on just about any street corner within five miles of us during the summer. The Amish set the stands up at the end of their driveways and usually just put a container for money to be left.  It's called the "honor system".   It's so nice to stop and get a bunch of flowers for a dollar or two.  I love putting them on our kitchen table or giving them away,  just because.  Isn't that the best time to get flowers...when it isn't for a special reason? (hint, hint, again to my husband!)

I've never been crazy about our area but this is
one of those things I like about living here.
I know those Amish ladies can't be
making much money on their flowers... I think it is
just a good old fashioned nice gesture on their part.
At least I think so!

Happy Father's Day!

I've never been good with words.  I feel deeply, but when I try to put my feelings on paper...it just doesn't happen very easily.  My husband on the otherhand,  writes me the best notes and letters...he's so good at it .  Sometimes I feel like he gets the bum deal when it comes to cards and notes from me.   Anyway, I was looking at pictures this evening over the past seven years that my husband has been a father...and he just makes me so proud.  He's an awesome dad....caring, loving, affectionate, hard working and FUN.  We love him tons!  Thought I would suprise him with some pictures of him and Brady.

Happy Father's Day!

Lazy Days Of Summer....

Have not been so lazy......
School has only been out for three days and we have been on the go ever since.
I'm not sure if we're trying to cram everything into the day because we're just excited or what.
But, I need a day here and there to just be home and get things done.
When things aren't in order, I can be a real pain in the  hard to live with.
I guess I just need to remind myself that summer is short and my schedule and lists and order can wait.
So, I will take a deep breath, relax and go with the flow...or I might just miss out on the fun!
And hopefully I will find some extra time to do laundry and read a blog or two!

Here's a few things we've been up to:

Playing in the creek with friends!

A little tennis!

Scooting on the bike trail!

Lunch on patio with Mom!

A visit to a friends farm for dinner!

And a yummy dessert!

I hope you all are enjoying your
lazy days of summer!

Some Things I Would Like To Try, But Probably Won't

Warning: if you are hungry and watching
your figure...read someone else's blog today!

Keebler Fudge Shoppe Cheesecake Middles

Those little elves are at it again!  Do these look amazing or what?!

3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp

This one is calling my name....Kerri! Kerri!
Truffle crisp...it just sounds good!

Whiplash Whopper

This actually is a little scary...like a heart attack just waiting to happen!  But, I heard it is really spicy...and that's right up my alley!  My husband would think he hit the lottery if I told him we were going to get one of these!

Also at Burger King......
Funnel Cake Strips

So, you can get a Whopper and follow it up with this yummy treat!  This has to be good...anything fried that also comes with a sugary dipping sauce...oh my!  I can already taste it!

Wendy's Strawberry Frosty

I almost always go for chocolate...but this just looks like summer!

So, these are just a few things I have seen in the last week or so that have caught my eye!  I'm going to try really hard to avoid this stuff since I won't be going to the gym as often this summer.  Have any of you tried any of these new finds?
